SPRINGER — The Springer Chamber of Commerce welcomed Blue Heaven Coffee Shop to Springer with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, July 11. The chamber provided cake, and Billy Donati of KRTN Radio Station live-remoted the event.
In addition, representatives of First National Bank of New Mexico were on site passing out goody bags. Located at 403 Prospect Avenue, the shop is family-owned and operated by Myda Sewell and her son, Dub who is the barista of the shop. In addition to serving coffee, frappuccinos and lattés that would rival Starbucks, Sewell’s shop is also providing fresh baked goods including donuts and cookies. And, while customers wait on their coffee delights to be whipped and stirred, they can peruse Blue Heaven’s antique items for sale, from vintage furniture to dishes.
Chamber president Timm Trujillo welcomed Sewell to Springer’s ever-growing list of businesses, wishing her success with her endeavors. Together, he and Sewell wielded the giant pair of scissors that officially kicked off the shop’s journey into business.
