SPRINGER — Together with the Town of Springer, the Chamber of Commerce is set to host their very popular fall festival or Fiesta Otoño, which translates to ‘fall festival’ in Spanish.

This fiesta is going to be held on October 13, 2018, from 10 am to 10 pm. This event was a big success last year for its first annual fiesta. This year’s second annual fiesta is going to have more. Much more as explained in the event flyer from the chamber of commerce.

Along with the Los Diablo’s car show, there will be a variety of bands playing throughout the day. Some of those featured bands include Springer’s own popular band The Purple Sage Band, Jonathan Castillo y Profundo, Tequila Rain & Mathew Martinez y Perfeccion.

There will be some exciting new events for the whole family including reenactment skits by Ft. Union with audience participation. There will be a beer garden by Colfax Ale Cellar from Raton, NM, horse drawn wagon rides, food vendors, the New Mexico Game & Fish Department will be present, as well as pumpkin carving. Various crafts, baked goods, cotton candy, and jewelry vendors will be available. The chile cook-off will be held with a free entry for a chance to win first prize and the fire extinguisher traveling trophy. Last year’s winner Mesa Pharmacy in Springer will be turning in the trophy for the next winner.

The fiesta will also have a Horseshoe tournament. Organizers Keith Tabor & Leo Laumbach are very excited for the tournament and encourage everyone to sign up as soon as possible. The tournament will be held at the Horseshoe Park.
