SPRINGER — The Springer Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Springer welcomed the new owners of H&H Processing on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at a grand opening ceremony.

H&H Processing was recently purchased by Dave and Audra Garrett. For the past thirty-three years, Dave Garrett has been a hunting guide and outfitter, and owner of Trophy Hunting Adventures, LLC in Trinidad, CO. Over the past twenty-five years, Garrett frequently referred clients to H & H, previously owned and operated by Rod Hood, for their wild game processing needs. When the Garretts learned Hood was wanting to sell, they thought it was a logical decision to buy H & H and continue on with the same quality processing they and their clients have enjoyed over the years.

Located on 14 Airport Road on the west side of Springer, H&H Processing is open for business from August 1 through December/January, and employs fourteen people during that time period. Previous owner Rob Hood has agreed to stay on as an employee for the next few months to help educate the Garretts in the business, and to make the change-over more seamless.

Audra Garrett says she and her husband, who live in Trinidad where she is the city clerk, are pleased with the warm welcome they have received from Springer and plan to produce the same quality of workmanship people have come to expect from H&H.

The grand opening was well-attended and the Springer Chamber provided cake while Billy Donati of KRTN radio out of Raton live-streamed the event.
