SPRINGER — As the new school year gets underway, the Springer Parent Advisory Committee is getting up and going too. This is a group of parents, school administrators, teachers, and community members who volunteer their time to come together to plan, hold fundraisers and gather ideas for events such as field trips, school carnivals, and festivals for the school. This committee is also presented with events and shown the activities and applications that the elementary school has in place. They meet once a month to plan and organize.
This year’s first meeting is still to be announced, as there will be an item on the first agenda to elect new board members and officers. Everyone is welcomed to attend meetings to brainstorm and share ideas to help the school have a great year. There are no membership fees or dues, and all they ask is to be respectful of all ideas and not to complain. Meetings have a positive tone and the PAC want to keep it that way.
