Colfax County Young Marines

RATON — Colfax County Young Marines would like to introduce our selection for Unit Young Marine of the Year.

Corporal Christian A. Garcia was selected by a board of our Registered Adults on October 4, 2018 to be our unit’s first Young Marine of the Year. He was chosen for this role due to his maturity, dependability, leadership capability, and dedication to the Young Marines Program, and our community.

Corporal Garcia, attends Raton High School, and is currently in the 10th grade, and is 16 years old. He has been in Colfax County Young Marines for 6 years. He is currently our Units Platoon Sargent, and is tasked with organizing many evolutions regarding the other Young Marines. He proudly serves on our unit’s color guard detail, and unit chaplain. During his time in Colfax County Young Marines, Corporal Garcia has completed numerous enabling objectives, Colfincluding drug demand reduction, CPR, marksmanship safety, community service, and many other training subjects.

Corporal Garcia will make a good representative of our unit, the Young Marines organization, and our community.
